Nancy O'Dell's debut position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became morning news anchor at WCBD TV and was the crime reporter. Her articles from Charleston, about how the Charleston police handled DUI cases with leniency caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict directive for state authorities. Ms. O'Dell received the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell, after her stint in Charleston reporting, was a co-anchor for the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station before moving over to Access Hollywood where she is now a correspondent and co-anchor on weekends.
